What my mentor has taught me

My Mentor, Faidzal now the UX Lead at LINE. He’s the one who crafts my career path from internship until today. He’s always honest about work and other stuff and really gives us the knowledge that we need to survive in this world. He always taught us to pay it forward, whatever he gave us, we need to give them back to the community

My first e-Book

My first step was creating content related to UIUX and posting them on my social media. I got so many questions regarding UIUX and the tools, so I decided to create my own e-book and give them for free in order to educate people about UIUX

The Covid-19 Memorial Malaysia Website

I and my friends joined a small non-profit organisation to make a memorial website to remember those who died because of Covid-19. During the pandemic, we know that countless effort that front-liners has given to the community, so in that moment I realised that even though I’m not able to help on the frontline, I am able to contribute using my skills which is UIUX. It was a very emotional and memorable project that I will keep in my heart till I die.

Mentoring via ADPList

In order to help more designers in the UIUX field, I decided to give a free mentorship session on ADPList and mentored more than 10 other designers from different countries.

Back to Uni as an Alumni

My friend, Haziq, and I have been requested by our lecturers to give a basic introduction to UI/UX to students who are seeking internships and fresh graduates in order to boost their motivation and help them secure a job later on.

It was a pleasure for us to return to our university and give a talk, even though UI/UX was not directly related to our field of study previously. We were happy to provide the students with exposure to UI/UX at the university level.

In conclusion

I learn a lot when I contribute and help people more. I believe it aligns with my purpose as a Product Designer to assist users in using my product, and I am applying this mindset in my real life. It brings me joy whenever I witness the success of my students or mentees.
